Not much else to say. Along with Pet Sounds, Sgt. Pepper's is the epitome of 60's use of the studio as bandmember/instrument.
Pepper" is arguably the Beatles most recognized album. Mixed with an array of sound effects, the remastering not only enhances the instruments and vocals, but brings all those art/music sound effects throughout the album to a vivid height. The sound is what makes this album amazing. On your computer, you can play the five-minute mini-documentary about the album (Quick-time), which showcases comments from all four Beatles and George Martin. From the way upbeat, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" to the surreal, somewhat somber, "A Day In The Life", every song is a classic. "Sgt. There is also a diagram identifying all the famous people in the cover photo.
That's perfectionism and its shows. It's really remarkable how great this album sounds. Also included in the great album is a multi-paged booklet with some excellent liner notes. In fact, there is a mini-documentary for all the Beatles albums. This same remarkable remastering has revitalized "Sgt. Released in 1967 at the peak of the 'hippy/flower power' movement, it combined art with music in a way that no album had previously done. All of this is mixed in with rare photos never seen before.
George Martin and his son remastered and remixed several songs for the "Love" album. Pepper's" to an unbelievable clarity. Imagine learning that this album was recorded at night with over 400 hours devoted to it. This CD is a collector's item and a perfect showcase for the Beatles genius.
I wonder what they think now of that song.Whatever, this ground-breaking album (CD) was a shock to a lot of Beatles fans back in 1967. You want to know how fast time flies. I remember buying this album when it came out 43 years ago, and kind of snickering, along with the band, over the lyrics of "When I'm Sixty-Four."Damn, now I am 64 - and so are these guys.in fact they are older. It wasn't the normal listening fare, but this "new, psychedelic sound" caught on quickly and was fascinating. Oddly, in 2010, it's still a great collection of songs that remain very diverse in their presentations. In other words, this is still good stuff and recommened to anyone, of any age, four to 64 (and beyond).
every one should get this beatles cd and all the rest in the catalog.
You have to hear Sgt. Mono is where it is at. Pepper in mono and Lucy in the sky with diamonds among others. I now realize why this album is a masterpiece. Stereo doesn't compare on most of the songs. It's a shame it's limited release. There are different mixes and takes.
